TORI AMOS' SUMMER OF SIN
Acclaimed Artist's Solo Tour Features Songs
From Her Latest Album, The Beekeeper And More
New York, NY -- Tori Amos, one of the most cherished and influential female songwriters around, will launch a North American tour in August dubbed the Summer of Sin. The shows will feature Amos performing solo as she showcases songs from The Beekeeper, her latest album, as well as compositions from her seven previous albums. U.K. singer-songwriter Imogen Heap and pop-rock duo the Ditty Bops will join Amos on the road.
The Summer of Sin is a victory lap of sorts for Amos. The Beekeeper was her fifth album to debut in the Top 10, which places her among an exclusive club of female acts that includes Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Madonna, LeAnn Rimes, Britney Spears and Barbra Streisand. Her April "Original Sinsuality" tour sold out immediately in almost every city. In conjunction with the album's release earlier this year, Amos also released her first book; a memoir co-authored by Ann Powers entitled Tori Amos: Piece by Piece. A New York Times Bestseller, the book is a rare inside look at the intimacies of Amos' life as both a private individual and a public performing musician.
Amos' career skyrocketed with the 1992 release of the multi-platinum breakthrough Little Earthquakes. With a career that includes worldwide record sales topping 12 million and multiple Grammy nominations, Amos continues to be one of the most intriguing and accomplished recording and performing artists of our time.
