TORI AMOS HITS WITH TWO NEW EPS:
"PROFESSIONAL WIDOW" REMIXES ROCK CLUBLAND,
"HEY JUPITER" SLATED FOR AUGUST 21ST
Atlantic recording artist Tori Amos continues her musical evolution with the commercial release of two strikingly differing EPs this summer: one featuring dance remixes of "Professional Widow," and the other entitled "HEY JUPITER," featuring a new version of the title song plus four live tracks recorded earlier this year on Tori's ongoing, SRO "Dew Drop Inn" world tour. The original versions of both "Professional Widow" and "Hey Jupiter" can be found on "BOYS FOR PELE," Tori's current RIAA gold album.
In its first week of release, the "PROFESSIONAL WIDOW" CD5 sold over 5000 units and was the "Hot Shot Debut" at #15 on Billboard's "Club Play" chart, making it one of three Atlantic titles in the Top 5 (joined by Pet Shop Boys' "Before" at #1, and Everything But The Girl's "Wrong" at #5). "Professional Widow" includes six different remixes of the track by producers Armand Van Helden (Ace Of Base, Gloria Estefan) and MK (Jodeci, Celine Dion, Nightcrawlers), along with the original album version.
On August 21st, Atlantic will release Tori's "HEY JUPITER" EP, including the newly recorded "Dakota Version" of the title track, plus four live tracks: "Professional Widow," new Tori originals "Sugar" and "Honey," and her interpretation of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," which has been garnering ovations throughout the current tour.
"BOYS FOR PELE," Tori's third solo album, was released in January and debuted at #2 on the national album chart. In addition to the "PROFESSIONAL WIDOW" and "HEY JUPITER" EPs, the album previously yielded commercial EPs for two other album tracks, "Caught A Lite Sneeze" and "Talula," both of which included previously unreleased Tori songs.
